Home care in Oswego
We serve Oswego and the 60543 area, along the Fox River south of Aurora.
Oswego has changed enormously in twenty-five years — from a small river town to one of the faster-growing communities in Kendall County. That has produced two distinct groups of clients, and they want quite different things.
Two Oswegos
Long-time residents, often in older homes near downtown and the river, have deep roots and frequently have family nearby. They tend to want a small amount of specific help, and to keep everything else as it is.
Newer families in the subdivisions that went up after 2000 are often here without extended family in the area. When a parent moves out to be closer to them, or when a baby arrives, there is no local network to absorb it. That is where we come in.
Distance and appointments
Oswego is a driving community, and losing the ability to drive is often the single event that changes everything. Nothing is walkable, and the medical appointments are in Aurora or further.
Transportation is one of the most requested parts of our service here, and it is often what lets someone stay in their home for another few years.
Post-partum recovery
Oswego’s newer neighborhoods skew young. Supporting mothers through the weeks after a birth — the meals, the household, the trips to their own follow-up appointments — is a growing part of what we do here, particularly for families whose own parents live several states away. We care for the mother; we do not provide childcare.
