Care at home, for people who earned it
Veterans and their spouses are entitled to be looked after at home, and many are eligible for help with the cost that they never claim — often because nobody told them the programs existed.
We provide the care. We can also point you at the right questions.
Benefits worth asking about
Aid and Attendance is an increased monthly pension for veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily activities. It is one of the most under-claimed VA benefits, and it can be used toward non-medical home care.
Veteran-Directed Care gives eligible veterans a budget and the ability to decide how their care is arranged.
Housebound benefits may apply to veterans who are substantially confined to their home.
Eligibility depends on service dates, discharge status, income, assets and care needs. We are not accredited to file VA claims and we cannot tell you whether you qualify. What we can do is help you understand what to ask, and point you to a Veterans Service Organization — the VFW, DAV and American Legion all provide accredited representatives free of charge.
Be cautious of anyone charging a fee to file a VA benefits claim on your behalf. Accredited representatives at a VSO do this at no cost, and paid claim-filing services are a common source of trouble for veterans and their families.
Getting to VA appointments
Transportation to VA facilities is one of the most practical things we help with, and one of the most common reasons appointments get missed.
