Home care in Aurora
We cover the 60503 and 60504 areas — Aurora’s east side, running toward Naperville and Oswego.
Aurora is the second-largest city in Illinois and one of the most diverse, and that shows up directly in how we staff. Family structures, expectations about who provides care, and language all vary widely here, and a care plan that ignores that does not last.
Culture and caregiving
In many Aurora families, caring for an older parent at home is simply assumed — nobody debates whether it will happen, only how. Those families often come to us later than others, and usually because the person doing the caring has reached their limit.
Respite care is the service that fits, and it is often the first one we provide. It is not handing over responsibility. It is making it survivable.
Rush Copley and coming home
Most of our Aurora clients are treated at Rush Copley or Mercy. Post-surgical support and help getting to follow-up appointments are the two things families ask for most after a discharge.
Getting out
Transportation is a large part of what we do in Aurora — to appointments, to church, to the Fox Valley Mall, to family. For clients near Phillips Park or the Fox River Trail, getting outside regularly is often written into the care plan.
