Disability Support at Home

Support that fits around the life someone is already living — not one that assumes what they can or cannot do.

Who it's for: Adults living with a physical, developmental or acquired disability, and the families supporting them. Our license permits us to care for adults only.

Common questions

My son has his own routines and does not want them changed.

Good — that is the starting point. Our job is to support the routine that exists, not import one. We ask a lot of questions before the first shift and we take the answers seriously.

We have been caring for our adult daughter at home for twenty years. What would you actually add?

Usually two things: hours back for you, and a relationship with someone outside the family. Long-term family carers are often the most reluctant to accept help and the most in need of it, because there has never been a break.

Can you support a child with a disability?

No. Our Illinois Home Services Agency license permits us to care for adults only. If you need support for a child, we are glad to point you toward agencies licensed for paediatric care.

Can support continue as needs change?

Yes. Some conditions are stable, some progress, and some fluctuate week to week. We adjust rather than starting over.
