Arthritis Support at Home

Hands for the jobs that hurt — jars, buttons, laundry baskets and stairs — so the rest of the day stays yours.

Who it's for: Adults whose arthritis has made ordinary daily tasks painful or slow, and who want to keep doing everything else themselves.

Common questions

She only really needs help on bad days. Is that worth booking?

Yes, and plenty of our arthritis clients work exactly that way. A short regular visit that covers the heavy jobs — laundry, bedding, shopping, batch cooking — often means the bad days are survivable without extra help. Trying to book only on flare days rarely works, because that is when everyone is least able to organize anything.

Mornings are the worst. Can someone come early?

Morning stiffness is the most common request on this service, and early visits are usually arrangeable. Getting washed and dressed is the task that most often needs a second pair of hands before the joints loosen up.

Can a caregiver help with pain?

Not directly — no massage, no manipulation, no medication. What genuinely helps is removing the tasks that provoke pain in the first place, and being there for the ones that cannot be avoided.
